The Bee Lab strives to make a meaningful contribution to Auburn University’s mission to provide high quality education to the citizens of Alabama, the United States, and abroad.
Instruction at Auburn University focuses on our students – both undergraduate and graduate. To learn more about student opportunities offered by the College of Agriculture, visit its general admission’s page or the Department of Entomology and Plant Pathology’s page.
Our efforts include formal instruction. Classes currently taught by members of our lab are:
ENTM 4960 – SPECIAL PROBLEMS IN ENTOMOLOGY
ENTM 4980 – UNDERGRADUATE RESEARCH
ENTM 5500 & 6500 – BEE BIOLOGY AND MANAGEMENT
ENTM 7900 & 8900 – DIRECTED STUDIES IN ENTOMOLOGY
PLPA 7820 – RESEARCH PROPOSAL WRITING
P.S. Quality of food is important to bees too! For example, honey bees fed pollen from diverse sources were better equipped to defend against parasites (Di Pasquale et al. 2013)
